Rathinam Group of Institutions came into existence in 2001 when the arts and science college was set up. The college has its affiliation with Bharathiar University, Coimbatore, and approval from AICTE. It is also UGC recognized and re-accredited by NAAC with an amazing “A” grade. The technical campus of Rathinam came into existence in 2011. RGI is a NIRF-ranked college that believes in value-based education. For 6 years Rathinam College has been listed in the top 150 institutions in all of India by NIRF.

RGI has many departments including arts and sciences, technical, management, architecture, and physiotherapy. The college has many B.Sc, B.Com, BBA, and B.Voc courses at the undergrad level. M.Com, M.Sc and MA in different subjects are also offered at the masters’ level. Students can also go for a doctoral program in Commerce, CS, and Management. Diploma and certificate courses at the college are also very prominent. Cabin crew, Airport Management, Flight Operations, and Anaesthesia Technician are the few famous certificate/diploma courses at the RGI. The technical campus offers BE and ME courses in different streams. The college also has a Rathinam Institute of Management that deals with MBA courses. The Rathinam College of Physiotherapy was founded in 2021 and provides an excellent Bachelor of Physiotherapy programme. Management institution offers MBA courses in Agriculture, Disaster, Finance, Hotel management, and many more. At the architecture campus, students can do bachelors in architecture. The college also offers 4.5 years of BPT course in Physiotherapy. Students do the academic study for 4 years and for 6 months do the service training.

The college also conducts workshops for developing communication skills and character development. The college gives technical expertise, pre placement instructions and career related guidance to students. For architecture students, the graffiti art workshops are held. The institution has already launched a number of noteworthy social start-ups, including Cipher Labs and No Food Waste. The college has partnered with Dell, Oracle, and VMware IT academy.

Rathinam Group of Institutions accepts application forms online. The students have to register themselves with any active number and working mail address. After that, they can start filling in all the required details like personal ones and academic ones. Once after completing the registration students have to pay the form fees. After paying fees, applicants are asked to submit their documents. The students can also call the help desk of the college for any query. The final selection is done after assessing the docs and counselling. This is the same process that exists at all the institutions attached to RGI. The students can individually visit the institution to submit the application.

The eligibility criteria for UG programs say that students should have passed their HSC exam and for PG programs a graduate degree in relevant discipline is required.

Rathinam Group of Institutions offers many scholarships based on academic achievements. The institute offers meritorious students scholarships and financial aid. The scholarship is given based on the student's satisfactory performance on the Rathinam Scholarship Test, and their merit in the qualifying exams.

Rathinam Scholarships are:

• Scholarships for Farmer's kids: Applicants whose parents are farmers get a 5 % discount.
• Sports Scholarships: Athletes who have competed at the state/national levels are eligible. They will get scholarships depending on their performance, and the Physical Director's recommendation.
• Rathinam Employee Scholarship: Students whose parents are employed in RGI will get a 50% scholarship.
• Academician Scholarship: Children whose parents work as professors/teachers in any institution will get a 5% discount.
• Ex-Servicemen Scholarships: 5% scholarship for the students who are kids of ex-army people.
• CBSE/IGCSE: Those who have completed the IGCSE and CBSE curriculum are eligible. They will receive a 5% scholarship on their total fees.
• Alumni Scholarships: There is also a 5% discount on the tuition fees for students whose siblings have already studied at RGI.
• Merit-Based: Any students who passed the scholarship test requirements likely to get a 10% waiver on the actual tuition fee.
• Students who attended govt schools and completed studies will get a 5% scholarship.
• There is also a 5% waiver for corporate staff who are already working in the Tech Zone campus and want to go for higher studies themselves or for their kids.
