Mahendra Arts and Science College

Mahendra Arts and Science College started its academic year in 1999 with the aim to give higher education to rural students in Namakkal. The courses at this college are AICTE approved and have an affiliation with Periyar University. The college is also UGC approved and ISO certified which ensures quality education. It is an autonomous private institute, running under the Mahendra Educational Trust. It is NAAC accredited with an ‘A’ grade and got 90th rank in NIRF rankings. The physics, chemistry, and biotechnology department are also recognized by Anna University. These departments got recognition in the research area. The college aims at scoring a 100% success rate in university exams by maintaining high standards.

There are a large number of courses offered at the university at UG, PG, and Ph.D. levels. It offers BA and MA in Tamil and English. It also has B.Sc and M.Sc in PCM along with a master's in analytical chemistry. The college provides MPhil and Ph.D. in Tamil, Chemistry, and Commerce. Those who are looking to strive and make a career in social work can do masters in social work here that is MSW. The college has placed a strong emphasis on biotechnology research, offering degree programs in this area from undergrad to doctoral level. It has B.VOC programs in food processing and agriculture.

●    For admission to UG courses, candidates must have passed the higher secondary or another university exam. He/she should also have the necessary optional subjects.

Mahendra Arts College have scholarship options available for deserving students. Students who meet the requirements can go on to apply for backward class scholarships and Adi Dravidar scholarships. The college also has provisions for national and state loan merit-based scholarships. Students who come from a backward community or belong to the SC/ST can apply for these scholarships. They can take the help of the college administration office. The office guides students and makes sure that scholarships are sanctioned to the deserving students on time without any delay. The college students have also been getting scholarships from a few private trusts and agencies. These agencies have been helping students in getting fee waivers on their tuition fees.

Those with 100% attendance throughout each semester or academic year are also recognised and awarded prizes. Students who achieve a score of 100 in any theory subject are given prizes. Students who are placed in the top 5 ranks at their universities receive special awards from the management.
