Government Law College [GLC], Coimbatore was established in the year 1979 as a Public Educational Institution. GLC Coimbatore is approved by BCI and UGC Section 2(f) & 12(B), and is affiliated with TNDALU, Chennai. Government Law College Coimbatore offers admission in the field of Law at UG/ PG level with scholarship benefits to deserving students. Dr. K. S. Gopalakrishnan is the Principal.
Government Law College Coimbatore was established in the year 1979, to meet the increasing demand for law colleges, by the Government of Tamil Nadu. The college is affiliated to The Tamil Nadu Dr. Ambedkar Law University, Chennai, and approved by the Bar Council of India (BCI). The college offers B.A LL.B and LL.B programs at the UG level and LL.M program at the PG level.

Mission: The college aims to educate the students using a dynamic approach, and motivate them to excel in sports and other extracurricular activities. The college seeks to inculcate a sense of responsibility into the students to turn them into responsible citizens.
Candidates seeking admission into the UG and PG programs offered by the college have to clear the minimum eligibility requirements, and they are as follows:

LL.M | Graduated in LL.B and must have secure not less than 50% marks |
*For SC / ST candidates, there will be a relaxation of 5% marks in the minimum qualifying scores.
Admission Process
To apply for the Government Law College Coimbatore admissions, candidates have to fill up the online application form. Follow the steps mentioned below for successful registration of the programs offered by the college:
- Visit the official website of Tamil Nadu Dr. Ambedkar Law University, Chennai
- Click on ‘Law Admission’ option displayed on the top right corner of the dashboard
- Further, click on the link of the course you’re interested in
- Fill out the registration form using name, date of birth, mobile no., and email id
- Use the login credentials received on email id or phone no.
- Start filling the application form using personal and educational details
- Candidates also have to enter the maximum marks and marks obtained in other subjects for eligibility and ranking purposes
- Fill out the school details
- After filling the application, click on ‘Submit’
- A preview window will pop up. Rectify the errors if there is any
- Click on ‘Save and Proceed’
- Upload documents like photograph / signature / marksheets
- Pay the registration fees through Debit Card / Credit Card / Net Banking / UPI
- Once the payment is successful, your application will be submitted. Take a print out of your application for future reference
Based on students’ marks secured in the last qualifying examination and availability of seats at the college, the authority releases a provisional merit list of the eligible and selected candidates. Further, the selected candidates have to attach a few documents to the email IDs presented by the authority. After the verification round, the candidates are issued allotment orders online. On a prescribed date, the classes for the respective programs commence at the allotted colleges.
